Privacy policy

At Dr. Plantas we look after your data the way we look after your plants. This page explains, in plain words, what data we collect, why, and how to ask us to correct or delete it. This policy follows Dominican Republic Law 172-13 on personal data protection.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Dr. Plantas, a plant nursery and plant clinic in the Dominican Republic, operated by [LEGAL NAME].

2. What data we collect

• When you sign up on the website: your name, your WhatsApp number, the page language, whether you arrived through the QR code on a nursery plant, whether you agree to receive WhatsApp messages, and the date you accepted this policy.
• When you message us on WhatsApp or Instagram (direct messages or comments): your username or number, your message and any photos you send, so we can reply. Some replies are sent by an automated system that runs on our own server.
• When you consult our plant clinic: the photos and description of your plant, the diagnosis and how it progressed.
• Technical data: Cloudflare, our hosting and security provider, processes your IP address to protect the form from bots (Cloudflare Turnstile) and to limit abuse. We do not store your IP address.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we never buy data from third parties.

3. Why we use it

• To answer your questions and care for your plants.
• To send you the starter guide, seasonal tips, news about the shop and courses, and nursery offers on WhatsApp,only if you ticked that box or messaged us to receive them.
• To improve our plant guides with what we learn at the clinic. If we ever want to publish a photo of your plant, we will ask first and never show your name or number.

4. Legal basis

We process your data because you consent when you sign up or message us. You can withdraw your consent at any time, free of charge and without giving a reason.

5. Who we share it with

We never sell or rent your data. Only these providers handle it, so the service can work:

• Cloudflare: website hosting, database and attack protection.
• Meta (WhatsApp and Instagram): when you message us through those apps.

These providers may store data on servers outside the Dominican Republic, with their own security measures. We will also share data if a competent authority legally requires it.

6. How long we keep it

For as long as you stay signed up or as long as we need to handle your request. If you ask to unsubscribe or to have your data deleted, we delete it within 30 days, except for anything the law requires us to keep (such as invoices).

7. Your rights

At any time you can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or object to its use:

• To stop receiving messages, reply STOP on WhatsApp.
• For anything else, message us on WhatsApp or email us at the address above. We will reply within 10 business days. To delete your data, follow the steps on our data deletion page.

8. Minors

The website and sign-up are intended for people aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to sign up for you.

9. Security

The website always uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to the data is limited to Dr. Plantas and protected with two-step verification and physical security keys.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date above. If the change is significant, we will let you know on WhatsApp before it takes effect.
